Dashboard widgets
A widget is a block on a dashboard that shows one view of your bookkeeping: a balance, a chart, a list of subaccounts, or a register of postings.
What widgets are for
Widgets let you watch balances, trends, and activity on one page. You choose the widgets, their place on the page, and what each one shows. The same kind of figure can appear as a number, a bar chart, a pie chart, a line chart, or a table.
The home Dashboard is the overview you come back to. You can add more dashboards when you want a different mix of widgets, such as a monthly review or a focus on savings.
Account pages for Assets, Expenses, Liabilities, and Revenues also use widgets. Those pages show a fixed set for that category.
Page controls set a shared period and commodity. A widget can follow those, or turn Use global date or Use global commodity off and use its own. Two widgets on the same page can then use different dates or commodities.
